George Mason University is expanding access to Microsoft 365 Copilot Premium through a phased rollout designed to help faculty and staff work more efficiently, reduce administrative effort, and unlock new ways of accomplishing everyday tasks. Copilot Premium integrates directly into familiar Microsoft 365 applications—including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive—to assist with drafting content, analyzing information, summarizing meetings, creating presentations, and automating routine work while maintaining enterprise-grade security and data protection.
To ensure users are successful, the rollout is supported by a comprehensive enablement program that includes instructor-led workshops, self-paced learning resources, guided adoption experiences, coaching opportunities, and ongoing communications that highlight practical use cases and best practices. This phased approach allows the university to gather feedback, measure impact, and continuously refine the experience as access expands to additional faculty and staff, helping build AI confidence and capability across the George Mason community.
